Eileen and Larry Kugler volunteer in A.V. Bukani Primary School in rural South Africa to improve literacy through professional development for the teachers and family engagement programs. Their daughter Sara has joined them on several trips. In 2010 they created a school library of 23,000 books which impacts the entire community. They returned in 2019 for their 6th trip. Contributions through the Kugler Education Fund at South Africa Partners support this wonderful school and community.

We're heading back to South Africa soon!
We're heading back to our beloved school in South Africa in late August! Although we haven't been back recently (Larry's -successful!- back surgery last September forced us to cancel our plans last year), we have stayed in touch with the principal and our volunteer contact. Through your generous donations, together we've funded a library aide who has helped keep the library organized and functioning. We're planning to go back this year with more books at an easy level and we'll be providing targeted professional development. Much more to tell you in the near future….
